A-Thug inspired by Event at The Apollo in Harlem

Monday, February 28, 2011

By BRS Staff

Regardless of who you are, everyone has had a dream at one time or another in their life. As a child, people dream of doing all kinds of things. Usually, as the years begin to catch up and adulthood comes, reality sets in. Sometimes the dreams change and sometimes the dream dies.

Aaron McBride had a dream of making it big as an entertainer when he was a child. When he got older, the dream remained, but it was much harder than he expected. Soon, he learned he was not a quitter when he stuck with it and pursued his dream. Now, McBride is running a profitable business.

Recently, McBride attended an event in Harlem, which featured guest appearances from Daymond John and Common. While he liked the appearance from Common, Aaron McBride found himself more inspired by Daymond John. He feels as if he has more in common with John because his story featured more of a struggle, much like his.

Daymond John was the brain behind FUBU clothing. In the late 1990s, FUBU rose to fame with a major endorsement from LL Cool J. John worked overtime just getting LL to model his product. For years, he produced the clothes from his own house. Initially, Daymond John gave away the products for free, but later he began charging and made good money from it. Without the backing of a major company, FUBU soon became the prominent clothing line for the hip hop community.

Even after seemingly falling off, FUBU is still going strong, but on an international scale. The clothing line is still doing very well in the United States, now known as FB Legacy. Much like John, Aaron McBride had the dream of making it big. First, he established himself as a rapper and he later expanded his company to include other ventures. By 2006, he had his own clothing line, BRS Clothing, which has done relatively well over the past few years.

Despite doing relatively well, Aaron McBride sees bigger things for his clothing line coming up in the near future. Soon, he sees stores in Harlem selling his products, having it hanging up in their windows. From there, he sees stores across New York City and the world selling his products. As his profile, as a rapper, grows bigger and bigger, McBride sees BRS Clothing becoming one of the top clothing lines in the hip hop community, alongside FUBU.

The single is being used in promotion for a few of the upcoming A-Thug mixtapes and also for his upcoming album. A few months ago, A-Thug began recording his next album. But, the main event of March 2011 will happen on the 5th. On March 5, A-Thug will be filming the official video for "Can't Stand Still," featuring Ronnie Juz.

Unity in Harlem through Black Rolling Stones Enterprises

Saturday, February 19, 2011

By BRS Staff

Our movement is bigger than hip hop, our movement is bigger than one artist. Music is the platform Black Rolling Stones has used to branch out into many other ventures. Regardless of how much exposure we receive and how many people come to our site, we are still Harlem's own.

Black Rolling Stones Enterprises has been working independently for eight years. Despite being around for a long time, some things are not going to change. We will remain on the indepenent scene for years to come. The only changes will be the way we approach doing business.

The independent nature will remain, but over the next few months, Black Rolling Stones will be making contact with several other Harlem businesses. For those who own independent restaurants, car dealerships, barber shops, and car washes, Black Rolling Stones is searching for you. Harlem businesses have been separated for entirely too long and we have something to unite for.

Harlem is ours and it is time we connect the dots.

Black Rolling Stones is Facebook Official

By BRS Staff

Everything set into motion has been a long time coming. The Black Rolling Stones began as an outlet for one man to release his album. What began as a dream soon included a studio and an album. From there, the movement grew and other artists were added to the label. Before long, Black Rolling Stones Ent. was one of the biggest independent record labels in New York City.

Once one goal is reached, it is important to have another one set. Life is a series of problem-solving and when the problems are over, life is essentially over. True Black Rolling Stones are not looking at the end, they are looking for the next problem to solve. After all, problems are nothing more than opportunities and the Black Rolling Stones team has and provides many of those.

Upon building solid buzz as a record label, Black Rolling Stones Enterprises expanded into video production and clothing work. Now, Megastar Films is behind a successful series with Megastar DVD. In addition to the DVD series, Black Rolling Stones Enterprises is also over Black Rolling Stones Clothing, which has become quite successful over the past few years.

Last month, Black Rolling Stones finally organized all of the ventures into one website. Now, things have been taken a step further and the BRS movement is officially Facebook official. To check out the brand new page on Facebook for Black Rolling Stones, click here.

Use the Black Rolling Stones name for a Mixtape

Monday, February 14, 2011

By BRS Staff

Black Rolling Stones is not the average independent record label. Throughout Harlem and the rest of Manhattan, BRS is one of the hottest crews. For rappers trying to break into this hip hop market, it would be in their best interest to team up with BRS.

Understandably, there are other rap crews and the members would not join BRS. That is not a problem, but anyone can use the BRS name if they choose to. Not only does Black Rolling Stones release music, but we also host mixtapes.

For those looking for additional exposure, the price is not high, when thinking of all that will be received in return for working with Black Rolling Stones. Harlem is the biggest support-base for BRS, but the crew has support throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. Also, the BRS movement has expanded out of the state, with support in Connecticut, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Virgina. The mixtapes would be marketed in these select areas when released.

Have your mixtape hosted by Black Rolling Stones today!

Black Rolling Stones in the Community

By BRS Staff

For the past eight years, Black Rolling Stones Enterprises has been representing Harlem. A-Thug had a dream and has done all he can to get his dreams out there. Last year, Black Rolling Stones made some lucrative partnerships that are paying off. The company has teamed up with other companies who have the same mission in mind, giving back to the places where the companies originated.

The sluggish economy has been no secret over the past ten years. By 2008, the entire economy crashed and everyone was struggling, in a sense. Readers are probably wondering what the poor economy has to do with the Black Rolling Stones movement. For those who asked the question, it has everything to do with the movement because the economy, even on the local level was touched.

Always shooting for the stars, A-Thug had a dream of being a well-respected leader in his community. He has watched this happen over the past few years through his music. Now, he wants respect for his business acumen. One of the many goals for 2011 is for Black Rolling Stones to give back to Harlem by partnering with some of the businesses in the area.

Regardless of race, religion, or beliefs, everyone can be a stone or stonette if they believe in their dreams and go after what they want. Black Rolling Stones has been active in the community for years, but it is now time to take things to the next level. In the next few months, Black Rolling Stones will be reaching out to several businesses in the Harlem area and doing promotions in the local area.

How to Be Featured on the next Megastar DVD

By BRS Staff

Ever since the 2008 launch of Megastar Films, Megastar DVD has been the most-successful part of the Black Rolling Stones company. Over the years, Megastar DVD has evolved from another promotional method for the Black Rolling Stones audience into a brand in its own right.

Initially, local rap artists and singers filled Megastar DVD, but now people are finally realizing there is a bigger goal. While Megastar DVD is hip hop and will always be hip hop, it is an outlet for anyone who wants to be exposed. For hip hop artists looking to be introduced to these areas, getting on the latest edition of the series is in their best interest. A-Thug returning to Mixtape Grind

By BRS Staff

For every two steps going forward, one has to take a step back. It seems to be a silly concept, but it has been around since the dawn of time. When reaching for a goal, one will make great strides. However, many setbacks will also be faced.

What separates the winners from the losers is how they respond when facing advertisty. A-Thug has dealt with his fair share of adversity in the past. Growing up in Harlem is no walk in the park, but he did it.

Even when he was a child, A-Thug knew he would make it big doing something. Soon, he decided he was going to become a rapper. Many doubted A-Thug, but he did not let the negativity get to him.

Independently, he released album after album and built an entire company around his career, Black Rolling Stones Enterprises. A-Thug is much more than just another rapper on the streets of New York. First off, he makes music for everyone and knows how to change his style up and remain authentic. A-Thug is also one of few organized independent artists in any part of the nation.

While his studio albums have done well throughout his eight year career and he does intend to release his album this year, A-Thug is hitting the mixtape scene hard. Many popular mainstream rappers have done this to increase their buzz and A-Thug is no different. The Harlem rapper is working on making The Signature the best album he has recorded yet, but is keeping himself sharp by releasing a few mixtapes.

Check out the Black Rolling Stones site for more information about his mixtapes in the near future.

BRS Movement, Bigger than Rap

Friday, February 4, 2011

By BRS Staff

There are many different rap groups and labels out there. With the advancement of the internet, it is easy for new companies to spring up. Most people are established with a simple website. But, it takes more than a website to keep things going.

Black Rolling Stones is one of the many record labels out there. But, what separates us from the other companies is how hard we work. Long before the website came, Black Rolling Stones was up and running.

Eight years ago, A-Thug released his debut album and the movement began. More music came from the label, more artists were signed to the label. Following the music, the clothing line came, and now BRS is also into management, and of course Megastar Films and Megastar DVD. Everything major labels have, we have and all on our own. The Black Rolling Stones movement is more than promotion for our music, instead, we are an entire lifestyle.

Being a stone or a stonette is more than being a fan of the crew. Instead, a stone or stonette is a person who works hard and goes after whatever it is they want. This movement is more than rap music, it is more than the films, it is more than the clothing, this movment is about empowering people. Regardless of age, race, or gender, anyone can be whatever they believe they can be. The Black Rolling Stones movement is a lifestyle that more people should adapt to, even if they don't like the music.
